“He tore my legs off” - Francis Cade 2016

Following on from last week’s little adventure, Attacus co-founder Jimmi challenged ‘retired’ elite cyclist Francis Cade to do a ‘proper’ ride with him. He accepted. So early Sunday morning Jimmi made his way over to his place with two bikes and a bag full of kit.

Francis rode in our Atlas Jersey, Ghost Bib and Dark Dagger Vest. He also had Jimmi’s trusty road bike Montague from Moss Bikes. Jimmi was relegated to a Cyclocross bike - mainly just incase he needed an excuse as to why even an unfit Francis was a lot better than him!

After a brief stop to compare leg tans, it was time to head off on one of Francis’ old training route, a hard 70k in the Surrey Hills.

Along the way Jimmi got to hear some tales of what training like a pro involves and what the elite cycling scene is like.  Francis has got a pretty impressive racing CV for a 24-year-old that’s not raced in a few years.

His route also included a climb up the legendary Box Hill, which they were both thrilled about...

But once at the top of the hill, Jimmi "two cakes" Nicholls really came into his element...
