NEW, IMPROVED SIZING FOR 2020. PLEASE CHECK OUR SIZE GUIDE FOR MORE INFO.

Let's be honest, cycling in the colder seasons can feel like a bit of a chore. But it doesn't have to be. We believe the key to enjoying riding at this time of year is being prepared. It's why we've devoted the past four years to developing a cold weather range that gives you the tools to take on whatever those stubborn months have in store. Combining everything we know about comfort and fit with the best technical fabrics around, this range of carefully-considered pieces is made to protect you against the elements, so you can continue enjoying the sport you love all year round.

Our Shield Jacket is the ultimate winter armour. An insulated soft shell jacket that can repel water, wind and cold while not restricting movement or your body's natural heat regulation. Finished with practical features including a two-way zip, waterproof pocket, storm cuffs and reflective strips to alleviate the challenges of winter cycling.

IDEAL FOR: Autumn, deep winter and spring riding

FEATURES & FABRICS
    • Soft shell jacket with a built-in waterproof and windproof membrane means the jacket fabric is resistant against strong wind and showers, while not restricting movement or your body's natural heat regulation
    • Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating
    • Insulated, breathable material that can withstand cold days
    • Two-way zip with waterproof inner zip housing
    • Stretchy storm cuffs inside the sleeves protect your wrists from the cold
    • Three deep back pockets, plus a waterproof zipped pocket to keep your valuables secure and dry
    • Reflective Flare pocket strips made from innovative Flare fabric. The strips, which run along the top and bottom of the rear pockets, appear black in natural daylight, but when a beam of light hits them - BAM - the glow is unmissable, giving you extra visibility to other road users
    • Silicon hem inside the jacket ensures everything stays in place
    • Tailor-cut for cyclists so you’re comfortable and have full protection against the elements when you’re in a riding position
    • All fabric: 86% polymide, 14% spandex
    • Made in Italy

Want to keep your water-repellent cycling kit in tip top shape so that it keeps you drier for longer? We recommend regularly washing and treating it with Nikwax Tech Wash and TX.Direct

            Size Guide

The technical fabrics in our jacket are designed for movement, and will naturally stretch. It's why you may find you fit into more than one size bracket. So to help you find the best fit for you, we recommend you follow the steps below.

            HOW TO MEASURE UP

            1. CHEST: Start by measuring your chest all the way around at the fullest part with your arms by your sides. Don't rely on your shirt or suit size. Then use this number to see which size options you fall into from our size chart below.
            2. WAIST: Next, measure your waist all the way around at the fullest part. This'll usually be around your belly button. Don't rely on your jeans or trousers size. Then use this number to see where you fall on our size chart. If your chest and waist measurements put you in two different size brackets, we'd recommend opting for the larger size.
            3. SLEEVE AND ZIP LENGTH: Use the numbers in the sleeve and zip length columns to work out how each size will fit on you, and make sure you're happy with the lengths. Keep in mind that our Shield Jacket has a high collar, so the zip will start just below your chin.
            4. FIT: Consider how you want your kit to fit. Do you like it quite close fitting? Or prefer it a little looser? Make sure your chosen size reflects how you like to wear it.
            5. TRYING ON: When trying on your new Shield Jacket, we recommend you do so with a pair of cycling shorts or tights as this will give you the most accurate gauge of how it’s going to feel when you’re on your bike. If you’re planning to wear the jacket as an outer garment, see how it feels with your other kit underneath. And remember that ultimately, our kit is designed to be worn on a bike – not upright in front of a mirror. So while we ask you not to actually use the kit when trying on, it’s a good idea to position yourself in your regular riding position and see how it feels.

While we do our best to accurately display the true colours of our garments in all photography on our website, sometimes the actual colour may vary in real life. This is because every computer/phone monitor has a different capability to display colours, and that everyone sees these colours differently.

            Care Instructions

            Open tab

All of our garments are made with high quality technical fabrics which, with a bit of TLC, have been designed to last you many seasons of riding.

            Washing

Machine wash on a low spin with similar colours at no higher than 30°C (86°F). Use non-biological detergent only and avoid fabric softeners and bleach.

Close all clasps and fastenings on your cycle kit – and any other garments mixed in with your kit – when washing. Velcro closures and clasps can catch on stitching and damage your garments.

            Drying

Do not tumble dry. Hang up and leave to dry naturally away from direct sunlight to prevent wear.
