We're always striving to make our products the very best they can be. Part of that process is about listening to feedback from the people who buy and wear our clothing week-in, week-out.
With our Cold Weather Collection returning for 2020, this year we've made some important tweaks to our men's Shield Jackets and Thermal Long Sleeve Jersey to ensure a more comfortable fit.
If you've never bought a Thermal Long Sleeve Jersey or Shield Jacket from us before, stop reading this now and scroll straight down to our 2020 Size Guides section below. There you'll find loads of helpful information about how to measure yourself and find your perfect size. You'll also be able to find a size guide at the bottom of each product page when our new pieces go live.

Men's Long Sleeve Thermal Jerseys
One resounding piece of feedback we got on our men's Thermal Long Sleeves is that they could all do with being a bit bigger. We hear you. It's winter, you want more room for extra layers, and maybe even the option of having an extra bit of Christmas cake should the opportunity present itself.
While we're still categorising them as Close Fit garments, we have made our Long Sleeve Thermal Jerseys a bit more roomy. We've also introduced a new 'Waist/Belly' column to our size guide, to give you an even better idea of how things will fit.
If you have one of our Black or Yellow Thermal Long Sleeve Jerseys from 2019 and really like the fit, we've compiled a chart below of the changes we've made to help you find your size.
We'd also recommend that you scroll down and check out our new 2020 Size Guide and double check what size you fall into before ordering.

Men's Shield Jackets
Listening to sizing feedback after the release of our Shield Jackets last year, the main takeaway was that while those wearing smaller sizes thought they fit great, those at the larger end thought they could be a little bigger.
So, we've introduced a new sizing system to allow us to make the bigger sizes bigger, while keeping the smaller ones the same.
We've also introduced a new 'Waist/Belly' column to our size guide, to give you an even better idea of how things will fit.

Breaking The Rules
The eagle eyed amongst you have probably notice that sizes L to 3XL don't follow the same pattern as the sizes below them.
The reason behind this lies in the second common request we've received over the past year - to introduce bigger jersey and jacket sizes generally. But at the same time, we understand that no one wants to have to pull on a 4XL or 5XL unnecessarily.
After much thought and testing over the past year, we worked out a way to both accommodate a larger range of riders and hopefully help a few people drop down a size or two.
To do this, we went back and re-wrote some of our manufacturer scaling 'rules' of our Thermal Long Sleeves and Shield Jackets – rules that, for example, tell the manufacturer that the chest measurement of a jersey should increase by X centimetres for each new size. Once set, these rules typically stay the same for all sizes. But we realised that while they work for the lower end of our sizing, they don't always work for all sizes.
So we spent time with a range of real riders to understand the issues they have when finding kit that fits, took measurements, and used all of this information to make changes to the rules – changes which include increasing the scaling up between our larger sizes.
We first introduced these new scaling rules earlier this year on our Cruiser Jerseys. The feedback was great and we immediately saw a drop in returns of our larger sizes.
So, while we know change can feel a bit annoying at first, we're confident that it'll be worth it.

How To Measure Up
- CHEST: Start by measuring your chest all the way around at the fullest part with your arms by your sides. Don't rely on your shirt or suit size. Then use this number to see which size options you fall into from our size chart below.
- WAIST: Next, measure your waist all the way around at the fullest part. This'll usually be around your belly button. Don't rely on your jeans or trousers size. Then use this number to see where you fall on our size chart. If your chest and waist measurements put you in two different size brackets, we'd recommend opting for the larger size.
- SLEEVE AND ZIP LENGTH: Use the numbers in the sleeve and zip length columns to work out how each size will fit on you, and make sure you're happy with the lengths. Keep in mind that our Long Sleeve Thermal Jersey has a dropped collar, so the zip will start about where your collar bones meet.
- FIT: Consider how you want your kit to fit. Do you like it quite close fitting? Or prefer it a little looser? Make sure your chosen size reflects how you like to wear it.
- TRYING ON: When trying on your new jersey, we recommend you do so with a pair of cycling shorts or tights as this will give you the most accurate gauge of how it’s going to feel when you’re on your bike. And remember that ultimately, our kit is designed to be worn on a bike – not up right in front of a mirror. So while we ask you not to actually use the kit when trying on, it’s a good idea to position yourself in your regular riding position and see how it feels.
