Ah the Great British winter!
The weather may be harsh, but if you're brave enough to get wrapped up, grab a bike and head outside there's nothing quite like the scenery at this time of year.
(If you're not, a nice warm car works too.)
We were out in the Kent countryside with YouTuber Francis Cade helping our good pal Laura Scott film a fun ride for British Cycling.
Laura (above) introduced us to the hilly 85km route she used to train for her TransAm race. And wow, was it spectacular.
The icy conditions proved challenging. It meant Francis spent a bit of time (about 5 minutes) filming on the bike before joining us in the support car.

Laura gave us a little tour including the history of the area.
And in a nod to the old audax routes she used to create the ride, together we made brevet cards with check points to stamp at each location.

It was great day with plenty of laughs - mainly courtesy of cyclist Chris Hall.

Despite cold, sleet and drizzle, it was a day of great scenery, great company and a great adventure.

Laura's ride is due to be featured on British Cycling's Ride Social blog. While the official BC won't land for a couple of weeks, Francis put together a little preview of what we got up to.
